The history of the creation of this comic story is laid out on the page of this site with week one of “The S.A.U.C.E.R. Records” so I will not go into those details again here. As I completed week #52 just before the end of 2016 I decided to take a couple of weeks off to rest my brain, rejuvenate, and visit the well of inspiration. I had a backlog, of comics, trades, graphic novels, and short stories that I wanted to read. Still do. Suddenly I realized that it was the month of February and I still had not picked up the story. With plenty of tale left to tell I drew installements 53-55 all within a few days. I feel like I am back in the driver’s seat again with renewed energy to put into this saga. In the last few weeks of 2016 we saw Burnette (the one who would guide WiCK’s spacecraft out of orbit and back to Earth) knocked unconscious by Ervin Digger just after lift off. Subsequently Fedele hits the mission abort button on the console cutting all contact from Earth to WiCK. Fearing a double cross by The Seers (the consortium within S.A.U.C.E.R. which has seemingly been behind a plot to get rid of WiCK) Fedele and Ervin-Burnette over his shoulder, flee the bunker just in time to get a few yards away from the impact of a drone strike. Meanwhile, WiCK is approaching the dark side of Saturn 9 only to find himself engulfed in blinding light. That brings us to where SAUCER #53 picks up here in 2017. Happy reading!
